In the Feature Writing book it basically all talked about complications that can happen while writing and gave examples like placing someone in a certain light or the definition of libel. Libel is when you falsely write about someone that can result in affecting their reputation etc. It talked about fictionalizing factual information like swaying the truth too and I never knew there were so many ways. It also talked about invading peoples' private lives and displaying private information in their writing.
Hi Chelsea! I'm not sure if we're supposed to comment, but I am just to be safe.
ReplyDeleteYour commentary on the libel reminded me of the story in the book about the woman who made up the whole life about "Jimmy" (I think that's what his name is) and his whole life as an 8 year old heroin addict. Ridiculous. Who thinks they can do that and pass it off as honest work? Anyway it's 3:20 so I have to go learn! Good post! It reminded me not to be silly and make things up when I write :)
